Artist James Ostrer presents his “WOTSIT ALL ABOUT” Series consisting of disturbing photos constructed of sugar, sweets, cookies and more in all their sugary goodness and decadence. But perhaps most disturbing of all is the frequency with which we see these items, instead on our plates rather than as a garment or accessory.
Ostrer is concerned about the 21st Century diet and the amount of sugar that we consume on a daily basis, often hidden in foods that we are unaware of. His works are a “result of a corrupted globalization and increasingly dangerous methods of food production.”
Despite the continual amount of studies and research done linking fast and processed foods to the rapid decline of American health, people (ourselves included) keep going back for these foods. So what is it that makes it so addicting?
